Interdisciplinary Design Symposium, May 17 - 18, 2014, Doha…
The MFA in Design Department here at VCUQatar will be hosting a two day symposium exploring and debating the research and practice based paradigms of interdisciplinary design…
An international cohort of presenters will be exploring this challenging topic both at the Msheireb Center on May 17, and at the HBKU Student Center in Education City on May 18…

Small Bizarres No. 84 - Portico Ceiling Fans at the Pearl, Doha…
The images above and below shows some of the ceiling fans located within the covered porticos that accompany the paths along the Marina at the Pearl. They're installed at a roughly five to six meter height, but the pull-string to turn them on, is only about 10 cm long… I've never seen them 'in action', perhaps this is the reason why…

We've recently moved to a new apartment here in Doha, and one of the ongoing tasks is to re-stack our bookshelves, something I find surprisingly engaging, even quasi-theraupeutic… Books, like old acquaintances, are always nice to re-visit. This time I also had some assistance from a book-worm/ bibliophile of a more feline persuasion…
