Presentation at the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah...

I've been invited to present at the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah, Kuwait's perhaps most respected and established cultural institution, on November 11, at 7 pm. This is a great honour, and an opportunity to 'push' some of the issues discussed on this as well as some of its fellow blogs (see links below to the right) and just a chance to debate these issues in a 'live' setting with individuals interested in related subject matters...

If you happen to be in the neighborhood why not aim to joins us at the al-Maidan Cultural Center for some spirited discussions and canapes...

The day of your presentation coincides with "Sout Al-Kuwait"'s constitution day event as well as Pecha Kucha Night #3

I would really much prefer coming to your presentation as it is something that interested me a great deal in Pecha Kucha #1. However, as KASA has contributed to both Pecha Kucha and 'Sout Al-Kuwait' it might be difficult for me and the rest of the KASA board members to attend. If the lecture starts at 7PM, what time do you think you will end it? I hope i can at least catch the ending.

Hi Bumo,

I believe the lecture will take in total about 1 1/2 to 2 hours...

It is typical isn't it - months of (cultural) drought only for a number of worthwhile events taking place at the same time...

Go figure...

a real bummer, and so typical of kuwait... a desert, then the flood in an oasis...
what to choose? couldn't we have live tv screens for all events simultaneously?
Or I will try to be in all places at the same time...

Maybe we could clone ourselves and attend all events at once..?!

Tom

(...then de-clone ourselves afterwards, through corporeal osmosis - and retain the experience in a single body)...

Wouldn't that be just grand..?

Unfortunately i couldn't make it to the event. :(

Me and the rest of the KASA crew were wondering if you would be interested in giving the same lecture at Kuwait University? We would love to see your presentation and always love your work. :)

Hi Bumo,

Sure, I would be glad to..!

It's a bit of a pot-pourri of non-sequential ideas, but the audience seemed to like it and responded very well to the work (with quite a few actually asking if I was planning to present the work elsewhere in the near future). So I would be happy to re-present the lecture at KU.
I assume you have my e-mail and even perhaps mobile number so we can decide on a date and time...
